Saul calls upon Israel |
The Israelites rally |
Saul calls upon the Israelites to fight the Ammonites. Details show: 1 -first
viewing of a cleaver style of butcher-knife.
2 -uncertain as to what these golden
belt attachments are, but worth looking into. |
The Israelites rally their support behind Saul.
Details show: 1 -fantastic view
of period footwear.
2 -nice example of a
wire wrapped grip
of a sword. 3
-heater-shield
with a "Lion Rampant" upon it. 4
-a heraldic type of flag, called a "Banner",
attached (in this case) to the head of a spear. Typically, they were
vertical in orientation (as seen), usually 2 "units" wide by 3 "units"
high, and represented a king, baron, overload or knight. It preceded
him in battle as a sign of his feudal rights.
5 -a foot-soldier dressed in a
quilted-leather
jerkin with a scalloped bottom on top of a quilted-leather coat, also a
leather gorget (neck protection). Also, you can see the padded
arming-cap under the helm.
6 -another great example of an
Overgirth ~ a second
saddle girth which went over
the saddle to provide extra security during aggressive activities.
Very common on military cavalry (the primary girth can be seen in it's
normal place under the saddle panels). |
